The easiest way is probably to get Knoppix (or similar)
on a CD, and use this to run Linux.
Then mount your / partition, and /boot partition if different,
and edit /boot/grub/grub.conf and /etc/fstab .

Incidentally, I would change all LABEL commands in these
to the actual devices /dev/hda3, etc,
as this might conceivably be causing your problem.
