There are a zillion older open-source packages that are no longer downward (or would it be upward??) compatible, and I thought that was the whole idea of linux... that if someone stopped maintaining your system / business software that with your own source-code you could just keep it rolling with a re-compile. Well, it just got a lot more difficult and for what? Why break things?? Is dumping config.h worth the grief?? Start another sux sux sux thread?? <chuckles> Can you use the 8776 kernel with FC6??
