Thanks for the contribution. I would not have ever thought to take the
actions for recovery that you describe.
I use LVM in hybrid mode. Stuff I do not care to lose is LVM, such as
swap and system files recoverable via reinstallation. /home and
important to me information is kept on conventional partitions.
I have LVM on RAID1 with regular backups. You can never be too careful
with your important data :-)
