Have you looked at "Krdc" - Kde remote destop connection?
It's part of the kdenetwork package. I've used it to connect to XP and win2k desktops - not through a VPN, though. I tunnel SSH through the linux firewall to get to the win boxes. Maybe used w/pptp you can get through your VPN...?
