There are already some bug reports going on:

Perhaps you have a Plextor device? Then the first one may be related to
your problem. However no one mentiones a volume-group problem...

Thanks, Christian. My device is a NEC one. Surprisingly (or not), with
Nero Linux I can record every kind of CD. So, while cdrecord is not
fixed, I will use Nero.
