It's the only installation method I have found that always works.
I always like to have the 1st cd around for 'rescue' mode
boots. Does the boot.iso have that? Anyway after downloading
the install iso image you can 'mount -o loop ...' the first
disk to access what is in the /images directory.
You can use the boot.iso for rescue mode, yes; just use "linux rescue"
and it will ask for the install method, loopback mount the first CD or
DVD ISO and enter rescue mode as usual. It might not work with http or
ftp install methods though, as there is no ISO to loopback mount.
