I "ls -la"-d /etc/X11 and found two dead links against the old /usr/X11/bin/X and /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkbd Geeezz... X11 doesn't exist anymore (<sigh> now everydarn thing is in /usr/bin) so fixing the kink for X to /usr/bin was easy enough, but xkbd doesn't seem to exist with the locate command. rpm -q --whatprovides xkbd comes up empty. Yeah, I know, yum upgrade is iffy and I'm paying in spades for my sin. It might be a headsup for anyone who did the upgrade path to check /etc/X11 and see if your links aren't smushed. That might explain may strange problems. Now, what package provides xkbd ? Gonna go google rite now. Ric
