Hey friends of the list :-)

i would like to hear streaming music on my computer. so, i added
mp3-support to gstreamer. BUT: somehow, my webbrowser tries to play the
sound with the mplayer-plugin.

Has this something to do with the mime-types? how can i tell mplayer not
to play mp3's in the browser?

I don't know the reason, but mplayer tries to hog all my multimedia duties
if
I install an mplayerplug-in newer than 2,80, or perhaps 2.85 (on fc4).
It seems to
be true when running other linux distros as well. Try installing your
plugin from Livna,
They usually have the older plugin. --gary
