Maybe people aren't inclined to bother to help unless the poster puts
the effort in and provides lots of information first?  I know I'm
inclined to skip over things if it looks like a lot of work to figure
something out.  More so if I watch a conversation and see that the
participants aren't very familiar with the subject.  Not only do you
have to explain how the system works, but also how to use it.  There's a
point where you think, if I just hold back for a day, they'll have
figured it out for themselves via the manual.

I make those comments in general, not about anything in particular.

Remember it's been the weekend, so probably people have had better
things to do than slave over the PC.  I spent half of yesterday just
listening to music.
