For example, at home I an running Linux. We have one machine that runs Windows 98 in the sowing room. (Software to program the sowing machine.) This machine is connected over a wireless link. It has no problem connecting to Samba shares on my machine that is connected to the router. I can also mount shares on that machine. My laptop can also mount shares from ether machine over a wireless link, or a wired connection. Now, the wireless connection probably is going to be slower, and less secure then a wired connection, but that is another story.
