Note that it is 500kb is size. I let the browser window cover half the
screen to show the text, and the background (nice tux pic!). It is KDE
3.(4||5) and the issue is in all programs. Firefox, Acrobat Reader,
Tbird, and Kate are my 'biggies' because I read a lot of text.
It looks like your text is heavily anti-aliased to the point that it looks
like the characters have shadows. I don't know if X allows selecting the
degree of anti-aliasing involved. If it does I'd reduce it's level. (If
you temporarily turn it off the edges should look VERY sharp and clear.)
Since this shows in a screen shot not a camera shot the effect is not
likely a cable or monitor effect.
