When I do it I can make Sqrt work.
If I want to take the Sqrt of 123/3.
I hit the Sqrt key, then 123 , then /, then 3 then type ).
Now when I hit return I get the square root of 123/3.
Antonio Montagnani:
made exactly what you did and I get a malformed expression warning.
Gcalctool is 5.6.31 and I am running Fedora 4 with the Italian language...
It works for me...
1. Hit the Sqrt key, I see Sqrt(
2. I type in: 123/3)
3. I now see: Sqrt(123/3)
4. I hit enter
5. I now see: 6.403124237
I only see a malformed expression warning if I do not type in the
closing parenthesis. i.e. Trying to evaluate: Sqrt(123/3
You have to enter the calculation properly. If you then type in the
closing parenthesis, and hit enter, it works.
NB: You can use the equals key on the program, the keyboard, or the
enter key, to do the same function (work out the anwser)
I am only saying that here it is not working. Made exactly your example.
No one else reporting from my country (Italy)???
I guess that it is connected to internationalization. Galculator is
working fine.....so I can use a calculator ;-)
