Dear Parameshwara

Normally modern modules load these devices at system boot, or at least
flag em for creation through devd.

if the module isnt loaded, try to find out if it needs boot parameters,
if thats the case, throw em into /etc/modules.conf or where that file is
on fc...

if your modem isnt supported the right way, why not change that usb
winmodem against a real one from 3com or so...
