Although, I can agree it is a bit large, I do not think someone should
limit communication, when they are helping a user.  If we were chit
chatting about cuddle cats or something, then I would agree the thread
should be cut back.  Let me know if I am off here, but I think we
should encourgae the help and support for users, even it if means 1500
posts.

     Yes, it seems were that much closer, as you are now getting the
feed.  Do you hear any sounds on your system at all?  If not check The
Control Panel and see if your system is muted.  Also be sure you sound
card is being detected.

     What WM (Desktop) are you useing?  (You may have hinted at it
before, but I do no remember).  Also, be sure XMMS is not muted
itself.
