Having nested mailboxes rocks. Too bad dovecot doesn't support that.

I thought it did if you use MailDir format for storage. On the other
hand I routinely click my mouse button while it is still slightly
moving and with evolution connected to UW-imap I get an error message
about not being able to move the mailbox to be a child of itself. I
have one mailbox connected to an exchange server via imap and when
that happened it dragged the entire inbox folder into 'deleted items'
with no warning. I'm not sure that's an improvement.

An what about the dot in the username?
I haven't yet succeded to use it with cyrus.

If you have dots in your usernames you could configure cyrus to use
slash instead.
You do that by putting the line:

unixhierarchysep: yes

into your /etc/imapd.conf

Yes, but SquirrelMail is not able to use this configuration.
It seems to be unable to create mailboxes...
----
fix it - change the scripting from cm user.$USER to cm user/$USER - it
has to be php code and rather easy to locate.

Craig

I think it even is one of the questions you are asked if you run the squirrelmail configuration script.
If not, you can edit this behavior in:

/usr/share/squirrelmail/config/config.php
