But doesn't this mean that one would have to install it *after* the
initial install from cd or dvd? Not that it would be so hard to do.
I'm just wanting to make sure I understand the process


For Fedora Core 4, yes but the good news is that Fedora Extras repository will be enabled by default so you can just use yum install <packagename> to install any package from extras. For Fedora Core 5, support for adding additional repositories is planned within the installer itself
