Yes, but do you also have the 82801FBM chip?
Execute "lspci -v -v". Please look for the line like this:
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82801FBM (ICH6M) SATA Controller (rev 03) (prog-if 80 [Master])
I believe the IDE controller on the ASUS P5GD2 deluxe board that the Plextor is connected to is this one:
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82801FR/FRW (ICH6R/ICH6RW) SATA Controller (rev 03) (prog-if 80 [Master])
This motherboard also has two additional SATA controllers.
I could very well be wrong, but I think that is where the wheels come off the wagon.
You may be onto something.
Not really, my Plextors are connected to:
00:02.5 IDE interface: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 5513 [IDE] (rev 01) (prog-if 80 [Master])
00:05.0 IDE interface: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] RAID bus controller 180 SATA/PATA [SiS] (rev 01) (prog-if 85 [Master SecO PriO])
And they show the same behaviour.......
Kind regards, Angelo
