Thanks for the tips and advice. I've gotten the impression that mcrypt
is available w/in the PHP src.rpm, if I edit the php.spec file and add
"--with-mcrypt". I have a few questions about this:

1) is "--disable-posix-threads" still recommended/required?
2) am I required to say "--with-mcrypt=shared",
"--with-mcrypt=%{prefix}", or both?
