Is anyone using any Auto CAD programs for linux. I'd be interested in both Open
Source and commercial based solutions.

Thanks,

James

There are (at least) two version of Intellicad for Linux:

http://www.bricscad.com/ (still beta?)

http://www.progesoft.com/compra/index.asp?left=../cadforlinux/main&lang=eng&abspage=1

These run under Wine. For native Linux CAD, see http://www.varicad.com - but unlike the various versions of Intellicad, Varicad does not have an Autocad-compatible command line.

Intellicad seems to work reasonably well under Linux, except for weird font problems (e.g., simplex font doesn't render nicely!) and HPGL export issues (i.e., you can't do it!).

For lighter-duty applications, consider Qcad: http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad.html
