The reason is that Emacs's meta key, which is required in order to be able to use Emacs conveniently, is broken by xorg-x11-6.8. I reported this with Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=139424), but there hasn't been any response. Has anyone managed to get the meta key (using either alt or the logo key) to work under the Emacs and xorg that are part of the FC 3 distribution? Any suggestions or news about any developments toward resolving this problem would be much appreciated. Alex --
