http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3056 has a patch which fixes the problem with a rebuilt testing kernel 2.6.10-1.727_FC3.
Thanks a bunch for the hint, that did the trick!
The patch didn't apply (patch -p1) to the 2.6.10 source, neither before nor after applying the patches from the 2.6.10-1.727_FC3.src.rpm. But putting it in by hand worked.
Now I'm back at high speed, yeah :)
