That question is better asked on a WIN mailing list than here as this is
a WIN issue, not FC.

But anyway -- I have a PC with a similar issue over here and got some
experience. The WIN XP installer will first come up with it's initial
blue display, ask you to press ENTER or something and then scan your
hardware. At this point, mine fails due to a Linux partition.

So if yours fails before the first blue display, you have most likely an
issue with your boot CD. Try it on another machine first or get another
copy.

or go to http://dban.sourceforge.net/ download make a floppy boot to floppy at the prompt type autonuke in a few hours you will have a fully clean hard drive(s) --

Try using a harddrive zero fill utility. I saw a similar thing at work with FC3 when I had to temporarily take my test server down and reload XP onto it.
