Very true statement unless you use ssh or vpn to establish a secure connection. Always go ahead and setup WEP (WPA is still getting there for most cards) and lock down your AP to permit only selected MAC addresses. Then use ssh or even one of the VPN solutions to really encrypt your connection. The WEP part will keep the casual hackers from getting very far and those really good hackers that take the time and effort to crack WEP would then be stuck looking at SSH or VPN encrypted data. At that point they give up trying to break into your network. It would be easier to break into your house and still the computer. :) So wireless security really depends on how you set it up and use it. -- Scot L.
