Got this error:
[root@iq mehdi]# mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder mount: block device /dev/hdc is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdc, or too many mounted file systems
Thats pretty much the same error I was getting for a while. The bad block device and wrong fs type part of the error message just means that you're attempting to mount a device that doesn't exist. On your system the CD drive could be named something else other than /dev/hdc. On my system it is so named because I've got two IDE hard drives in the box. If you've only got one hdd in your box then very likely your CD drive is named thusly:
/dev/hdb
