Hi List,

there were already a few threads to the theme, but I still have the
problem (FC3). I can not use xcdroast, neither k3b. Both fail.

Here is the output of "cdrecord blank=fast dev=/dev/hdc":

scsidev: '/dev/hdc'
devname: '/dev/hdc'
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
Linux sg driver version: 3.5.27
Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'.
cdrecord: Warning: using inofficial libscg transport code version

cdrecord: Cannot allocate memory. Cannot get SCSI I/O buffer.

The same command issued by root results in a blanked CD-RW. Should I
recompile my cdrecord, or what would help me, to be able to use k3b and
xcdroast (same failure notice) as normal user?

Versions:

xcdroast-0.98a15-8
k3b-mp3-0.11.18-0.1.3.kde
k3b-0.11.18-0.1.3.kde
k3b-i18n-0.11-0.fdr.3
cdrecord-2.01.1-5

Thanks in advance,

I got cdrecord to work on 2.6.8.1 by changing some source code and recompiling the kernel. Only one file needed to change. It is easy. Here  is the link to the thread which talks of the problem and the fix.
