Doesn't seem to be much in terms of Red Hat cyrus-saslauthd
documentation and I need a kickstart. I can start the service. I don't
see any saslauthd.conf file nor any sasldb file - and there isn't
anything in /etc/sysconfig either.

You will have to create these files if you need them. What kind of SASL
setup do you want to realise? The /etc/saslautd.conf is for instance
needed when doing LDAP based auth. The /etc/sasldb2 is to be created
using saslpasswd2 when using sasldb2 based auth data.
/etc/sysconfig/saslauthd will be sourced (if existing) to override init
script settings.

I'll just add, if using sasdb2, he don't need saslauthd running.
