There is always a tradeoff with 'cpu temperature' - and the 'fan speed' i.e when the CPU is running at lower freq - one can slow down the fan and keep the same tempurature - or one can keep the fan running faster - causing the CPU to get cooler. My guess is this part of the logic is done in the bios. Don't know if it is configurable. Satish
