ok! cpu freq varies upon usage, whitch is fine. but the temp will not drop below 70C. once it reaches 58C the fan kicks in at medium speed and stays like that. i'm trying to find a way to make run at a higher speed till it cools off.

can you do 'cat
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies'

# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies 349991 699982 1049973 1399965 1749956 2099947 2449938 2799930

should i erase the fist entry?

I don't know how this can be done - you can give it a try :)

what is this? i had "-i 2" and changed to "1"

/usr/sbin/cpuspeed --help

Ideally I'd like an option for cpuspeed to ingonre certain frequencies (esp
all the intermediate ones). I'd rather it just jumps between the
lowest (save power) & highest (max-performance)
