Just out of curiosity...
If an answer is given from a top-poster do the bottom-posters not read it?
My guess is that they do read it. Why? Well because when someone provides an answer to a question you have you're likely to read it from the top or bottom or use babelfish to translate it, etc.
To put it bluntly you are much more likely to get a kinder, gentler, more accurate and helpful response if you don't top post.
Just something to like about.
