I installed FC-3 on a number of machines, and had problems with "yum update" on several of them. However, all except one were fairly trivial, and seemed due to the fact that the "mirrorlist" entry did not work for some reason. When I substituted local sites it worked fine. The only machine I had serious problems with was the first one I installed FC-3 on, where for some reason a "rawhide" version of python was installed. I've solved the problem on this machine by applying the two tiny python patches I found in the bugzilla you mentioned elsewhere, < https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=138535>, for which many thanks. I'm not a "developer" in any sense, and am very careful now to set "enabled=0" in all the files in /etc/yum.repos.d/ except fedora.repo and fedora-updates.repo . -- Timothy Murphy e-mail (<80k only): tim /at/ birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland
