HI! I'm new to the list. I had the same problem as Rick Chen <rick chen optusnet com au> with the FC3. I solved the problem with: In "grub.conf" I added to the end of the kernel line the following: acpi=ht and I was able to shut down the computer with no problems! Hope that this help!
