I'm wondering the same thing...
my monitor doesn't look right unless I set the refresh rate to 100 hz,
otherwise it shows black spots on the sides  (have that problem in
both Windows and LInux)  setting the refresh rate to 100 hz fixes it
though,
but i too am wondering how to set the refresh rate?   to 100 hz in my case
