John Well your idea did work and I was able to get through the total installation. There were some other issues that I will worry about later but once I was in gnome I tried to enable eth0 all the lights on the cable modem were blinking and it completely locked up the laptop. So when I rebooted it now locks up right at the beginning of the startup of Fedora. So I am assuming I need to re install. What is weird is when I was using SuSe for the last year or so I never had these problems. (Just problems with my widescreen lcd) Thanks Mathew -----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John McBride Sent: Thursday, November 11, 2004 3:57 PM To: For users of Fedora Core releases Subject: Re: Can someone please help I have been stuck for days. I guess I'd try a text mode install (if it still exists and works in fc3) and DON'T try to dhcp the ether card or maybe set it to a 10. static ip address for now, or maybe there is a option to diable it (i don't recall). at least you could get the beast installed. sorry, this is all i can think of. you will have a lot of cleaning up to do, post install, maybe. --- John -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
