I like apt as well, and to fully be able using alternative repositories as well (to get the "universe") without changing core/fedora.us/livna packages to avoid dependency problems i set /etc/apt/preferences the following way: ------ quote ------ Explanation: base os Package: * Pin: release c=os Pin-Priority: 993 Explanation: updates Package: * Pin: release c=updates Pin-Priority: 993 Explanation: stable Package: * Pin: release c=stable Pin-Priority: 993 ------- end quote ------ So I can add any repository I want to apt and keep the core system vanilla.
