I cant get cdrecord or k3b to work using an earlier kernel or as root.

Does anyone have any ideas, this is getting really silly now.

I have logged a bug and posted here and not recieved even a derogatory
comment about it probably being the 2.6.8 bug and Im just stupid or
something.

Is anyone out there who can help?
