It's still going, so it's a bit early to say that it definitely worked, but it's a definite step forward. Jonathan Hi All, Thanks for the tip about running up2date from the command line in a terminal window. This did the trick for me. It seemed to get hung up in the GUI and would not progress. I started it in a terminal window and poof it updated everything and very quickly. Thanks for the tip very much. This one goes in the permanent storage files. Later, B.J.
