Silly question, but did you actually do a "mkinitrd" for the new kernel?


And do you have "alias scsi_hostadapter sata_sil" (or whatever the appropriate module is) in /etc/modprobe.conf?

Yep, i have that in modprobe.conf and i did the mkinitrd and dont work.
I place in grub and fstab my sata disk on sda.
The problem is when i boot the initrd seems dont load the sil3112 cause before i see the line.
This only happends when i try to compile the vanilla kernel becouse i use fedora 2.6.8.1 kernel and works fine for me, that is my trouble im making crazyyyyyyyyy
