I've installed Fedora 2 on a system that has been running Redhat 9.0.
When I log off, the system hangs, the monitor displays a message

The X configuration has the correct monitor and video card with all of
the same configuration data for the RH 9.0 machine right next to it.

Have an identical problem with a Dell machine that's been upgraded from 9.0 to FC2. The machine does a total blow-up, nothing logged. Fancy swapping specs, to see if there's something common? I've installed it on many systems, all from the same image, so I know it's something quirky with *this* hardware.

Try to comment 'Load "dri"' in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Solved the problem with lockup when logging out from My Dell Optiplex GX240
with the same graphics card.

On a Dell Optiplex GX270 that randomly crashed on X. No logout problem, X just left w/o telling anyone, the CVS version cleared up the crashing problems.

See bug report below.

The short of it, this X works and the prior versions did not.

I can't vouch for the first version, but the first CVS version worked well. I'm too unsure of the latest -2 to try yet.
