Andy,

If you want a head start on building the CVS code for XFCE4, I have a
script at:

http://www.medanalytics.com/build

and another at:

http://www.medanalytics.com/build-goodies

for building the goodies additions for the panel.

Take note of the comments in each regarding some adjustments to
folder/path variables in the scripts.

Also, note that at the moment, there is some discussion on the
xfce-devel list regarding aspects of threading for the panel and
associated plug-ins. Things are in a bit of flux at the moment and not
all panel plug-ins have been updated. Some may therefore not be
functional yet.

If you have any questions, drop me an e-mail offlist.

HTH,

Marc Schwartz
