Nope, no problems of that sort. My MB is a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 (rev 2)
board, Athlon XP 2600). It uses a REaltek 8169 10/100 lan chip (there's
also gigabyte lan support but I'm not using it). CD burning is fine,
fast, and no problems on the system at the same time.

Have you looked to see if your hard drives and CD burner have DMA
enabled? If not it MIGHT account for this sort of problem. Perhaps.
