I just really really like Red Carpet. As for worrying that Red Carpet will "eat your brane", I don't think there is much to worry about on that score. It is a very mature product (version 2.2) and is one of Ximian's flagship products. As I understand it, Novell bought Ximian primarily for the enterprise version of Red Carpet. Mono, Evolution, and Ximian Desktop were just icing on the cake. If you watched any of the videos from Novell's Brainshare, you would have seen Red Carpet over and over.
