I've just realised that the problem seems to be with magicdev -- the DVDs are being recognised as data discs instead of DVD (video) and are being mounted (I hadn't noticed because the icon for the disc on the desktop was hidden underneath a window). Does anyone know how I might go about trying to isolate what might be going wrong so that I can submit a bug report?
