I've just realised that the problem seems to be with magicdev -- the
DVDs are being recognised as data discs instead of DVD (video) and are
being mounted (I hadn't noticed because the icon for the disc on the
desktop was hidden underneath a window). Does anyone know how I might go
about trying to isolate what might be going wrong so that I can submit a
bug report?

Best, Darren
