Just my 2 cent: I've tried moneydance once and it wasn't worth it. Few
online banking institutions are supported, etc. If you have to pay,
there's some other money program around, but don't know the name atm.

Does gnucash support online exchange of data via .qfx download or

still have debtor's prisons?) or for kiting checks.
Cheers,

There's also MoneyDance (www.moneydance.com). Although it does cost a
few $$. I know it
can read both Quicken and Money exchange file formats. I've used it
on both Linux and OS X.
It was a little easier to get going with than gnucash, but then I
haven't tried gnucash for over
a year.
