if you guys are going to insist on carrying out this argument, i must insist that you carry it out in private and not in the group. i'm sure alot of people here would agree.
I find this rather amusing, why inept people run linux is beyond me but they always find their way here. A quick solution would be for Res to learn how email works, but then we would no longer be amused with him. oh well :)
I would be more of the opinion that the configuration of the mail program would be set to automatically start a new thread if the subject line changes drastically. This appears to be more closely related to how people think, rather than how things actually work.
Furthermore, Fedora [and Linux in general] is, IMO, doing an excellent job of bringing Linux to the "inept" user. In my informal studies, people seem to actually prefer Fedora to Windows, in terms of user-friendlieness, ability to complete tasks, performance and reliability.
That being said, I didn't find the entire thread to be amusing, but rather a sad portrayal of childish human nature, primarily because there are way too many threads in the forum that are like this. IMO, it would have been better for Res to simply "ignore", or perhaps quietly accept the suggestions of others, or maybe even respond OFF-LIST!!!!!
