There is a cronjob already. The output goes into /var/log/rpmpkgs

Check out /etc/cron.daily/rpm to see how it does what it does.

No need to clone the daily into a weekly because log rotate does the
right thing and saves one daily log a week, check /etc/logrotate.d/rpm

Still, you may wish to save specific copies.... in a different
place....with different names....with different formatting than the
cronjob.

Enjoy,
Tom
