Nope, I do not know of ANY major corporation that uses bleeding edge kit to support their business. Servers are always at least 1-2 steps back from the edge. You want stable, not really FAST... Also, I am running an Intel dual pentium3 SMP system here, with no problems and uptime (at the moment) of about 43 days. That was when I transplanted it into a new case, and I think it was up for over 100 days before that. My other box used to run w2k, but this was moved to a fedora Core1 box recently when I got sick of the worms... :-( I am sorry that you have had problems, and I can understand your frustration. You have stated that you do not need confirmation, or commiseration. Just exactly what do you want? Use what works for you. :-)
