Didja consider that there could be something _wrong_ with the motherboard? I've seen a surprising LOT of hardware that 'just barely works' under Win9x, but doesn't work at all under Linux. Turns out, the board was needing an ECO from the factory. You might also go to the motherboard's website; you might need a upgrade to the BIOS. There was a time, way back around 1993 where "does it work with Linux" was once a solid question. But nowdays with thousands of motherboards completely supported, it's easier to ask "what hardware *doesn't* work with Linux." Yeah, you can get painted into a corner, but that's no excuse: waster your time with all the aforementioned crap inside Windows for the rest of your life, or be a free man. Don't go back to it just because it's easier; that's just a cop-out. I wasted over a year that way- a year of experience I can never get back... -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brian FahrlÃnder Researcher, Conservative, and Technomad Evansville, IN http://Fahrlander.net ICQ 5119262 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
