I use as a general rule: If it has been a while, or maybe it was during the test phase I try to include a link to the thread in the archives. If it is the third time in a day, it is right at the top of the archives, so why bother. Taking the example from the subject of this message. There were many threads about up2date the last time a kernel came out. There will be many threads about it when the next one comes out (you see, I'm a realist :-). If it has been a while and I reply, I would probably point back to one of the replies here. If someone else has already answered it recently and a new thread starts I would probably say "just search the archives it was answered very recently". -- William Hooper
