This is harder than it looks - I was using my Windows box to post to the list. Now I'm on the FC1 laptop, and I can't really even configure Evolution or even Mozilla Mail because with the 640x480 resolution, I can't see the "save" and other buttons etc. Sometimes I can guess/tab my way through, but sometimes not. From: "John Wendel" <jwendel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 02, 2004 5:52 PM Subject: Re: Intel 852/855 graphics on Dell laptop

Why don't you post your XF86Config file. Maybe someone will see somthing you missed.Problem: I can't get any screen resolution other than 640x480 on my Dell laptop D500 with Intel 852/855 chipset. It is an XGA display whose max is 1024x786 in true color in Windows.
Also, did you try using the <ctrl><alt><+> key combination to switch screen resolutions?

John

Control-alt-+ keys did nothing. I'll try to quote my config file below. Pse cut me some slack if this comes out in the wrong format or other bad Netiquette...
Sheesh, I guess I'll attach it...
