Unchanged, not needed. Up2date and the rhn_applet
do not use the /etc/yum.conf file, only the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources
is used to select the various sources. You don't need to have yum
installed to have yum support now.
  Yum is 3 things:
1/ a set of rules to set up a repository and the info files +
header packages needed for the resolver on the clients
2/ yum-arch the program which implements the setup of those
      metadata on a server
3/ yum the program which implements the client side for the resolver.

up2date (and to a lesser extend the rhn_applet) reimplements the 3rd
part, based on the metadata defined in 1/
